The Dutch giants narrowly went down at the Johan Cruyff ArenA to goals from Lorenzo Pellegrini and Ibanez after Davy Klaassen had given them the lead in the first half.

Erik ten Hag's side wasted plenty of good chances in the first leg as they attempted to take the game to the Serie A side and Martinez says they will go looking for the goals they need in the Stadio Olimpico to swing the last-eight clash back in their favour.

"It's a pity, we attacked throughout the game," he told Calciomercato.it. "I want to think about the positive side of the performance: the team constantly attacked and created many opportunities.

"Our identity is that, it won't change. We will attack, we need to win to reach the semi-finals. We have to learn that in these matches you can't waste opportunities, nor make mistakes."

Ajax, who are top of the Eredivisie, beat RKC Waalwijk 1-0 on Sunday, while Roma were also 1-0 victors over Bologna in Serie A.

Ten Hag's side have scored in their last 26 games in all competitions so will be confident of causing Roma problems in the Italian capital.

Dusan Tadic is their top-scorer with 22 goals in all games, Klaassen has registered 13 and Sebastien Haller has hit 10.

Ajax are 13/10 to win the second leg, Roma are 9/5 and the draw is 14/5.

Ajax are 14/1 to win the Europa League, Roma are 6/1.
